Employment Agreement or Contract?
There are two basic types of employment arrangement
- Individual Employment Agreement (IA)
- Collective Employment Agreement (CA)
There is also a different type of contract if you are planning to engage an independent contractor.
The IA and CA are used for direct employment situations where we directly employ an employee who is usually paid by wages or salary.
In contrast, the Independent Contractor Agreement applies to situations where the parties want to set up a commercial arrangement.

Different hours of work arrangements
Employment agreements may have a number of typical arrangements covering hours of work and tenure:
- Permanent full-time
- Permanent part-time
- Casual
- Fixed-term (Temporary)
